Project

To cope with work inefficiency incurring through workflow in import section and the company needs to overcome this. The company needs to have information to understand the work flow as the manager has no adequate time to investigate all workers in the section to get information. That is why  I come up with the project “Study of Import section for Improvement in Work Flow Efficiency, A Case study of Nice Apparel Co., Ltd. Thailand” which I need to find search out all information through the import section by observing and investigate workers deeply how do they process their work. In addition, I have to work as they normally do every step to see what can be potential improvements. Recording and collecting all what I have learned from doing. Once I have all information, I have to send this to my mentor and discuss together and getting feedback about what I have to search more to make information completed and ready to use for creating the supportive program. The program will be built up based on my information. Also, I will recommend what I have seen that should be improved throughout workflow in the import section.

Experience Sharing

From this cooperative education experience I have learned many things which I feel have helped improve my skills in these following areas. First of all it built my networks effectively, as I got to coordinate with people at the workplace and external organizations, such as the Board of Investment, contracting vendors, shipping companies, and customers.  It was a great benefit to me learning to work with peopleinside and outside of the company. Secondly I worked with a diverse group of people, a mixture from different countries and cultures, from the ages of 30 upwards to their 50’s and possessing many different experiences to share. By working with themI learned how to appreciate differences and treat them all with respect. This definitely helps me in my future career path regarding how to behave professionally inthe workplace.Thirdly was adjusting my attitude. I sometimes faced difficult situations at work, either withco-workers or tasks, but I finally learned to change my attitude, converting hard things to be challenging things and obtaining positive results. The fourth lesson I gained from thus experience was the importance boosting and honing skills. In the four months I have worked I was required to use Microsoft Excel extensively as well as other computer skills to manage the many different documents and forms required by the BOI (Board of Investment) and other entities. My fifth lesson came in learning how to deal with time pressure and prioritize my work flow to be more efficient in the schedule allowed me. In summery I gained some invaluable experience from my work experience and I think one of the most important things I learned is to always work hard This was an opportunity to get rid of laziness and I reminded myself to work hard all the time no matter what I was doing. Work was tough sometimes, but there was always something I got to learn from.

Suggestion

Company’s workers attitudes especially who have been working in this company for long time that might have different attitude from what they have seen in the university. So you should take this opportunity to gain and learn from this for boosting up your own attitude.
